Terms of Service

Last updated: May 5, 2025

These Terms apply to Reflect, a macOS room correction app.

By downloading, testing, or using Reflect, you agree to these Terms.

Beta software

Reflect is currently beta software. That means it may contain bugs, incomplete features, rough edges, or behavior that changes between versions.

Please use it only if you are comfortable testing beta software and giving feedback.

What Reflect does

Reflect measures your speaker and room response, creates EQ correction filters, and applies correction to Mac audio.

Room correction results depend on your room, speakers, microphone, audio device, setup, and measurement quality. Reflect may improve your listening experience, but results are not guaranteed.

Reflect is not a professional calibration service and is not a replacement for professional acoustic treatment, studio calibration, or expert audio engineering advice.

System requirements

Reflect requires macOS 14.2 or later.

Some features may depend on your Mac, audio device, microphone, permissions, and macOS settings.

Audio Capture permission

Reflect needs macOS Audio Capture permission to process system audio.

You can remove this permission in macOS System Settings at any time.

Safe use

Use Reflect at safe listening levels.

Do not run measurements or correction at volumes that could damage your hearing, speakers, headphones, or other equipment.

You are responsible for your own audio setup and listening volume.

Licence

During beta, Reflect is free to use for testing.

After beta, Reflect is planned to become paid with a one-time fee. No subscription is currently planned.

The beta does not guarantee free lifetime access to future paid versions.

Updates and expiry

Beta builds may expire or stop working after a certain date so testers stay on current versions.

Features, pricing, licensing, and availability may change before the public launch.

Feedback

By sending feedback, bug reports, screenshots, logs, suggestions, or other comments, you allow me to use that feedback to improve Reflect.

You still own your own content, but I may use your feedback without paying you or asking again.

I will ask for permission before using your name, quote, screenshot, or setup publicly.

No resale or misuse

You may not resell, redistribute, modify, reverse engineer, or use Reflect in a way that violates the law or harms other people's systems.

No warranty

Reflect is provided as is.

I do my best to make it reliable, but I do not guarantee that it will always work, that it will improve your sound, or that it will be free from bugs.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, I am not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to your use of Reflect.

This includes, but is not limited to, audio problems, setup issues, lost time, lost data, equipment issues, or unsatisfactory correction results.

Changes

These Terms may be updated as Reflect moves from beta to public release.
